Soil, grade and what it means for your fence
Franklin is limestone country. On a lot of these lots a post hole hits rock well before it reaches the depth a six foot privacy fence wants, and pretending otherwise is how you end up with a fence that leans the first time a storm comes through. We plan for rock, bring the equipment for it, and price it honestly rather than discovering it on install day.
Grade is the second Franklin factor. Rolling rear yards in Westhaven, Ladd Park and the areas out toward Leiper's Fork mean a fence has to rack or step, and choosing between the two changes how the finished line reads from the patio.
